Company Profile

Blue Ash Tool & Die Co., Inc. has manufactured precision tools and gauges since 1964 including commercial as well as government sales.  In 1975, the company was awarded a Certificate of Merit from the National Small Business Association.

This website highlights some of the tools produced at this facility and includes a current listing of in-house machines.  Blue Ash Tool & Die Co., Inc. has the capability to machine and inspect a wide range of small to large parts.  We can swing  an 80" diameter on our largest vertical turret lather and large weldments and castings can be precision milled and bored on the 50" x 72" numerically controlled DeVlieg jig mill.  Hole locations and machined features can be verified on the DEA Bravo measuring robot.  Additional NC and CNC machines are ideally suited for single piece or multiple runs.

Many tools manufactured at our plant feature hardchrome or 55-60 Rockwell components to "tenths" tolerance.  The Moore jig grinder and 35" diameter swing Springfield grinder enables us to finish machine these ultra precision parts.  Intricately shaped parts can be projected on the large 30" diameter screen of the Scherr-Tumico optical comparator at 10 to 30 times size and compared with a scaled computer generated image of the part.

A variety of in-house machining capabilities helps maintain exceptional quality control over all aspects of complicated assemblies.  This includes an Elox electrical discharge machine for machining cavities, a LeBlond wire EDM, a Fellows horizontal gear shaper for specialized gears, and a Sunnen hone to achieve the correct surface "fit to finish" on bored holes.

The quality control effort begins with the initial job router and continues throughout the manufacturing of the tool.  This quality and on-time emphasis is imposed in the relationship with our special process sources.

In 2005 our shop went from being S-1000C certified to S523 Compliant.

Our modern and clean facility contains the workhorses of the industry: Bridgeport mills and LeBlond lathes.  These versatile machines coupled  with experience journeyman tool and die makers underscores our exceptional machining capabilities.

Since the 1970s, Blue Ash Tool & Die Co., Inc. has established and utilized an apprentice machinist training program.  This includes job shop training of high school graduates and company sponsored college night courses in order for an employee to earn and Ohio Journeyman Tool and Die Maker certificate.  In recognition of this police, the Live Oaks Career Development Campus honored Blue Ash Tool & Die Co., Inc. in November 1985 for promoting student's awareness and interest in the machining trades.
